At Arise WSA, we believe in the power of women to shape strong futures—for themselves, their families, and their communities.
At AWSA, we work to raise awareness about the impacts of domestic and family violence (DFV), advocating for stronger protections and culturally appropriate support systems that prioritize the safety and well-being of women and children. We recognize that DFV doesn’t only affect women—it deeply impacts families and parenting. That’s why our programs also focus on supporting mothers as they navigate parenting in the context of trauma, cultural expectations, and the challenges of raising children in a new environment.
Through community education, culturally safe workshops, and trauma-informed parenting support, we empower women to rebuild their confidence, protect their children, and nurture healthier family relationships. Together, we believe we can break the silence, challenge harmful norms, and create a safer, more supportive world where women and their children can heal, grow, and thrive
Health and wellness are at the core of what we do. We provide women with access to physical and mental health resources, including wellness programs, and community support.
Our health and wellness initiatives focus on holistic care, promoting physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
This program supports women where they can prioritize their health, receive the care they need, and build healthy habits for longlife wellbeing.
At AWSA, we recognize that understanding legal systems is crucial for empowering women, particularly for those who are new to the country. Through this program, we offer accessible workshops, legal guidance, and educational resources that help women understand their basic legal rights in Australia, accessing legal assistance and knowing where to turn when facing legal challenges.
Moreover, we offer resources and workshops that helps women to navigate the justice system with confidence, including understanding Australian court procedures and processes.
We believe coming from collective cultures, we understand that collective responses and mutual support are vital. The AWiCfC program is dedicated to transforming conversations around Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) and parenting within our communities through a series of discussions and awareness workshops.
These conversations will strengthen our understanding of the systems and cultural dynamics we live in, while equipping women with the skills they need to thrive as families in the Australian context, all while honouring and preserving our cultural values and perspectives.
AWSA aims to help women and community develop understanding and skills that can help to address or respond to their pre-migration and post- migration stressors.
